The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Soosuk Lim, participated in the 10th edition of the Prodware – Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo Dialogues held on October 17 and 18 at the Euroforum Palacio de los Infantes Hotel, in San Lorenzo de El Escorial. The Dialogues on this occasion focused on the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI). At the gala dinner of this event, together with Ambassador Lim, the Ambassadors of China, Yao Jing; India, Sir Dinesh Kumar Patnaik; and Japan, Takahiro Nakamae participated. Each Ambassador expressed the point of view of his country on a topic of such importance and relevance before an audience composed of businessmen and high-level executives. General Félix Sanz Roldán, former director of the CNI, also participated, who commented on the challenges facing an interconnected and digitalized world. In his speech, Ambassador Lim expressed his belief that the AI ​​revolution will determine Korea's future in the next 30 years. For this reason, his country is determined to position itself as the world's third AI power by 2027. To achieve this, in September of this year, Korea created the National Committee on Artificial Intelligence to unify the efforts of the government and the private sector. Korea is also committed to addressing the risks posed by AI, which is why it will establish a national AI security center in November of this year. This year, Korea has held two summits to address the issue of AI security. One was held in Seoul together with the United Kingdom, and the other was on responsible military use. Ambassador Lim noted that his country is taking the lead in preparing the AI ​​Action Summit to be hosted by France in February 2025.
