SEOUL, Feb. 18 (Yonhap) - LG Electronics Inc., the fifth largest manufacturer of mobile phones, plans to launch this week in South Korea, the "Optimus Pro G", its continued flagship phone "Optimus G".
LG Electronics will release this Wednesday the smartphone in full high definition, 5.5 inches, through SK Telecom Co., KT Corp. and LG Uplus Corp, as the company said in a press release., The device is expected to be released in Japan and North America in the second quarter at the earliest, LG said, without a release schedule abroad.

The Optimus Pro G has an IPS display with a pixel density of 400 pixels per inch, which uses 50 percent less energy but is two times brighter than the AMOLED screens of the same size, according to LG.
The handset maker has been providing its latest mobile phones with IPS screens, supplied by its subsidiary LG Display Co., while the leading manufacturer of smartphones, Samsung Electronics Co., has been relying mainly AMOLED technology .
The Optimus G runs a Snapdragon processor 600 1.7 GHz Quad Core, Qualcomm Inc., an improved version compared to the S4 Snapdragon processor the Optimus Pro G.
The tracking model is also equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1 megapixel front camera that can be used simultaneously for a "double record", according to LG.
The telephone long-term evolution, which operates on the Android platform Jelly Bean, is priced at 968,000 won ($ 894.6).
