Brussels, April 8 (Yonhap).The Secretary-General of NATO, Anders Fogh Rasmussen will visit South Korea from thursday to saturday.
It will represent the first time that the NATO boss visit Seul after the founding.
During his stay, Rasmussen intends to hold separately sessions with the President,Park Geun-hye,with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yun Byung-se and the Minister of Defence, Kwan-jin.
The Secretary-General is expected to give an important message against the development, production, stockpiling and use of nuclear weapons. At the same time the provocative actions of North Korea, across the escalation of tensions between the two Koreas due the ongoing threats.
Furthermore the visit is expected to be an opportunity to show the strong commitment to promote peace and stability.
In an exclusive interview to the news agency Yonhap, celebrated on Monday at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgic, Rasmussen said he expects to strenghtening the co-operation with South Korea.
At the same time urged North Korea to an end of any abusive, threatening comments adding that the NATO is seriously concerned about the situation and it will observe close up.
