SEOUL, July 26 (Yonhap) - Kia Motors Corp., the second-largest South Korean automaker, announced Friday that its second-quarter net profit rose 7.7 percent from a year earlier, thanks to the strong sales in the foreign market.
The consolidated net profit reached 1.18 trillion won ($ 1,056 million) in the April-June period, the company said in a filing to regulators.
The automaker said operating profit fell 8.5 percent to 1.12 trillion won (U.S. $ 1,008 million), while sales rose 4.5 percent to 13.11 trillion won (11.743 million dollars) in the same period.
