SEOUL, Sept. 27 (Yonhap) - The project to build the concourse level of thermal energy in an urban area, were launched on Friday in Seoul, said the developers.
The project involves the construction of two underground generators directly under two thermal generators currently operating in Mapo, central Seoul, according to the Korea Midland Power Co., Ltd.
The construction is expected to cost a little more than 1 trillion won (931 million dollars) and be completed in September 2016.
As the only power station in the capital of Seoul, the new and expanded facility in Mapo also supply up to 9.8 percent of all energy consumption in Seoul. Also provide heat to heat generators about 100,000 homes in the Yeouido and Mapo areas, the company said.
