SEOUL, Nov. 12 ( Yonhap ) - The Korea Tourism Organization ( KTO , according to its acronym in English) , said Tuesday , it is expected that in 2020 foreign tourists visit the country for medical tourism reach nearly a million and generate revenues of 3.5 trillion won ( 3.2 billion dollars).
The KTO added that this year, about 399,000 medical tourists in South Korea have made an expenditure of nearly 2.53 million won ( $ 2,362 ) per capita health expenditures and expected that 998,000 medical tourists forecast for 2020 made spending on these services of 3.56 million won ( $ 3,324 ) each.
Compared to revenues this year for foreign patients in the country , nearly 1 trillion won ( 933.7 million dollars), the revenue for 2020 amounted to a total of 3.5 trillion won ( three , 3 billion dollars).
