SEOUL, Nov. 26 ( Yonhap ) - Sales of electronic commerce in South Korea grew in the third quarter , due , apparently , to the prolonged slowdown in economic growth , a report showed Monday the National Bureau of Statistics .

Online trading totaled 292.3 trillion won ( U.S. $ 275.636 million ) in the July-September period , an increase of 5.3 percent, according to the report.

"The prolonged economic downturn appears to have influenced online sales between companies ," said an official from the office to the Yonhap News Agency .

According to the report , e-business B2B (business ) , representing 90 percent of all sales in cyberspace, increased 4.8 percent in the third quarter . B2C E-commerce ( between companies and consumers ) increased by 14.4 percent.

The C2C (consumer electronic commerce) increased by 14.8 percent and B2G transactions (between business and government) recorded an increase of 11.6 percent.
