Moscow, Jan. 2 ( Yonhap) - The visa waiver agreement between South Korea and Russia becomes effective on wednesday, the first day of the new year.
The agreement was signed during the summit meeting between South Korean president, Park Geun- hye, and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, held in november last year in Seoul.
Under the bilateral agreement , citizens of both countries can stay up to 60 days in each respective country without visas and travelers who have already spent 60 days in the visited country can continue to stay for 30 days after leaving the country and return to same .
Total duration of stay should not exceed 90 days in a 180 day period.
