Incheon, South Korea, 7 of May, (Yonhap) - The main stadium of the Asian Games in Incheon has completed it´s construction after three years of construction work.
The city of Incheon, which is located in west Seoul, held a ceremony in order to celebrate the end of the construction and made a public opening of the stadium last Wednesday.
The ceremony was attended by about 5,000 people, including the leader of the ruling party, Hwang Woo-yea; Incheon Mayor Song Young-gil, legislators belonging to the city and citizens.
The city of Incheon invited to the opening ceremony 2,014 national and international personalities and citizens, in order to attract the interest in the sport event that will take place in September 19 to October 4 in Incheon. The number of guests, which symbolized the year of the Incheon Asian Games’ celebration, was the largest in history.
The stadium is set on an area of 113,620 square meters and has a capacity of 61,944 seats.
It is expected that the installation will become a cultural center for citizens.
