Sejong, August (Yonhap) 31 - During the first half of this year, South Korea ranked 8th in terms of world trade volume, which is ranked higher than in 2013, said a report from the International Trade Institute (ICI) on Sunday.
According to the research agency, the trade volume reached from South Korea, during the first half, reached the eighth highest amount of 546.4 billion dollars, including 71 major countries surveyed.
China topped the list with 2.02 billions of dollars, followed by the United States with 1.98 billions of dollars and Germany with 1.39 billions of dollars.
The report also showed that domestic exports grew during the same period, up 2.5 percent yearly to 283.3 billion dollars, which is the world's 7th largest amount, while imports placed in 9th place, with 263.1 million of dollars.
