08/07/2015 South Korea has approved the extension of the number of authorized Spanish establishments so that they can sell their meat and pig products to this East Asia country.
According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Magrama) through Cexgan, there are ten new establishments that could export to South Korea while the three plants already authorized may pursue new commercial activities towards this Asian destination. This decision represents a relief for the Spanish pork sector, deeply affected by the Russian veto and one of the most active in finding alternative markets during the time of crisis due to the veto.
This new establishments, whose list will be published soon, may export the products done in their facilities starting on the date of approval and, in all cases, must be provided by companies authorized for export.
The decision of South Korea takes place after the audit done by the South Korean authorities in Spain the past April.
