Madrid, February 24, 2021 - Kia has achieved its best market share recorded in its history in the European automobile market in January 2021. According to data provided by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (EAMA), the market share of Kia in Europe reached 4% in January, compared to 3.5 achieved in all of 2020.
Kia's sales in Europe * fell 10.4% to 33,971 units in January, due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic in the region. In any case, the brand has been less affected than the rest of the European market, which fell by 25.7% in the same period, therefore Kia's market share has grown to an all-time high of 4%.
In the words of Jason Jeong, President of Kia Europe: “The new car market remains extremely challenging, both for Kia and the industry. However, our sales teams and dealer partners across Europe have worked very hard to keep the business going and deliver the new vehicles to buyers. Thanks to this excellent work, Kia has achieved its best market share in Europe. "
