The Hyatt Regency Hespería Madrid hotel hosted the Korea-Spain Luxury Tourism Forum on Wednesday, February 15, organized by the Spain-Korea Chamber of Commerce and Spain is Excellence, the Tourism and Culture Consortium for Spanish Excellence.
The event was presented by Jorge Salaverry, Secretary General of the Spain-Korea Chamber of Commerce, emphasizing that for Korean tourists, Spain is the second preferred destination in the world. "Before Spain, the country they visit the most is the United States" and added that "the increase in Korean tourism to our country has been exponential, going from 50,000 people in 2010 to 630,000 in 2019. And although it is true that these are pre- pandemic, there is no doubt that 2019 levels will be recovered very quickly.” He also pointed out that the Spain-Korea Chamber of Commerce is the organization that promotes and encourages all commercial exchanges between the two countries.
